Leonardo Miguel Fernández, de 35 años de edad, se inició en el ajedrez a los 5 años donde compitió semi profesionalmente hasta los 18 años cuando le dieron el título de maestro internacional. A partir de entonces comenzó con el Backgammon. Fue en 1992 cuando se dedicó profesionalmente y llegó a ubicarse entre los 10 primeros puestos en el Mundo (actualmente ocupa el número 32). Debido a la falta de tiempo no ha competido más profesionalmente, pero ya ha ganado varios torneos internacionales.

En el Póker comenzó alrededor del año 1993 desempeñando diferentes variantes. En 2004 comenzó a abocarse al Póker Americano (Hold'em y Omaha) y compitió en varios torneos internacionales.
